We know life gets busy, and parents can’t always be on hand to supervise their young climbers. That’s why we’re offering our ROCKSTAR+ Independent Competent Climber Course for 14–17-year-olds!
Once passed candidates will be issued with a ROCKSTAR+ card that will enable them to climb independently on all future climbing sessions booked.
So while they climb, parents can take a well-earned break or tackle those never-ending Mum & Dad to-do lists.
The course ensures candidates develop a solid understanding of climbing and the risks involved.
It provides them with the basic foundational techniques and knowledge that will be necessary to enable them to demonstrate their ability to climb safely, confidently and responsibly.
Covering:
Risk Awareness - Purpose of Safety Matting & Limitations - Controlled Falling Techniques - Descending Safely - Essential Warm up and Cool Down Exercises - Basic Movement Techniques - Identifying Climbing Wall Features - Hold Types and how to use them - Understanding Routes and Grading - Climbing Etiquette - Training Tips - Climbing Terminolgy & Some Cool Climbing Lingo to impress their friends with and help when communicating with other climbers.
No Previous Climbing Experience is required.
Course is open to those aged 14-17 years old and already registered to climb with EnnisRock
